He is a very sweet loving dog, he loves sleeping pretty much all the time, he Loves to play with Our dachshund, but never initiates the playing. He’s potty trained and has not had any accidents inside. Also does well on a leash.
He has severe separation anxiety, he is only crated for a few hours at a time while the humans are out and has epic meltdowns on departure of humans and their arrival back home. We tried anxiety meds and it did nothing . We feel like it only got bad after we dropped him off to get fixed and only thing we can think is that he felt abandoned.
He does well with adults (more so women ) very skittish around men takes time to warm up and children and also seems to do okay with other friendly animals his size, on his terms .He needs someone who is retired or works from home and doesn’t travel and is a homebody . He can’t be with someone gone 5x a week for work.
He is such a sweet and loving boy! He has a ton of energy when he chooses to be playful, but is also happy to nap both inside out…95% of the time when he walks into the backyard he lays down and closes his eyes, he loves the outdoors. Ensure you have a solid fence because he’s a skinny fella and can squeeze between narrow spaced bars. He loves to give kisses and hugs and is constantly wagging his tail. He will do well with a loving family that can give him plenty of love, time and affection.
