Boss

Boss has an old man temperament. He loves adults and likes children but will keep his distance from children who aggravate or pick at him. He can be timid with larger playful dogs. He'll keep his distance from overly playful puppies and small high energy yelpers. He has that leave me alone attitude. Boss is very lovable and friendly with people. Loves rubs, cuddling, being held, and treats. He has been an indoor dog his entire life, is not a barker and has only barked about 5 times in his lifetime. Boss is house trained and will whine, hover around you, or stare at you when he needs to potty. I believe Boss may be in the beginning stages of hearing loss. I frequently have to call his name a few times to get him to respond. He can respond to commands like "down" (to lay down) and "roll over" (rolling on one side) with treats. Boss has a terrible habit of licking his legs, paws, and underbody. I always tell him to "stop" to try to help prevent the buildup of bacteria, yeast and odors. Boss responds to the word "out" for going outside or requiring him to exit a room. He responds to the word "in" for coming in from outside or needing him to get into his crate. He occasionally likes to sleep in his crate since the door is always open and never latched.
