When I first adopted Charlie, I was told by previous owner that he was purchased for breeding purposes which did not work out therefore he was caged a lot. Was in a house with 3 other dogs and did not get along with one of them. I noticed right away he had separation anxiety, would become distressed if I left the room and more so if I needed to leave the house to run errands. I had him neutered but I did not see much change in behavior following this. Also started basic training with him. He learned some basic commands (sit, leave it, lay down), some others he’s still working on or just refuses to engage. He seems to have digestive issues but may be related to anxiety, not sure. Will defecate and has potty training issues at times, loose stools. He does not like his cage but need to keep him there when I leave the house or bedtime because he still chews and gets into bad behavior when people are away or when bored. He would like to be with his human at all times if possible and sleep in the bed or in same room. If not he will bark and whine excessively for hours. He won’t stop until he gets what he wants. Likes to take naps and lounge around in between play time.
