Kane

Kane is a staffordshire pit bull mix who is handsome and well behaved. He has such a sweet heart and his main goal in life appears to be cuddling. He is well trained, knows all the basic commands as well as some fun ones like “spin” and “hold” where he holds a treat on his nose until you tell him it’s okay to get it. He also waits to eat his food until told it's okay to go ahead. The only part about his behavior that is not easy is that he usually does not get along with large dogs. I (the owner) have to travel for work and while I was dead-set against giving up Kane for the longest time… I have realized that I am not giving him the stable home and proper care that he needs. I am now gone most weeks, sometimes on short notice, and he is being taken care of by a mix of people- depending on who’s available for that week. Everyone who watches him raves about how sweet and well behaved he is. But, I am having difficulty always finding people to watch him and sometimes he has to spend long periods in the apartment, alone, only being let out for the bathroom and food (by my neighbors) when no one is available to keep him that week. I am spending less that 50% of my days with him and I am finally admitting to myself that it is not fair to him.
