Luke

Found on 5/30/23 about 1 mile from our home in Thonotosassa. When I stopped my car this little guy immediately but cautiously approached. Once he realized everything was cool, he got very excited and just wanted love non stop. He appears to be quite young maybe 6-12 months old and is extremely skinny and covered in scars and new injuries. I took him home and my wife and I bathed and fed him that night. The next day (today 5/31/23) we called our vet and got an immediate appointment. Vet confirmed he does not have a microchip and does not have any conditions like mange or worms. He got a rabies shot and some antibiotics for a fresh wound on his face. The vet thought he may have just been dropped off by someone when I found him so the previous owners could have let him get this bad before just dumping him somewhere. We have an old crate from when our dog was a puppy that he stayed in all night without issue. He did not go to the bathroom in the crate and seems to know that outside is “bathroom time”. We named him Luke but he obviously has no idea that’s his name yet. He’s a very sweet dog with typical puppy like tendencies. We cannot keep him but are treating him like he’s staying here (good food, play time and lots of love). I really, really want this dude to go to a good home, he deserves it.
