Snarf

Hi! My Name Is Snarf

Surf's owner was my home care patient and really did love him. Due to an unforeseen illness she was hospitalized and then went to a nursing home to complete rehabilitation. Her original hospitalization was in 2023 In early November. Her son was supposed to be the dog's caretaker, however he never took him to his home. He kept him in her house. when I went by to pick up the paperwork and items that the home care company keeps in the house due to us closing the case, I discovered that he had been keeping the dog outside and apparently coming over once or twice a week to give the dog food and water. By the time I had discovered what conditions he was living in, he had lost weight and obviously was not in the best situation. I had offered to take the dog temporarily because at that point his owner was supposed to be going to a rehab program and then after we have program returning to home. She really loved the dog. I did ask for medical records however never received any and I knew know that he is not neutered. Last week I was made aware that she had passed away and did reach out to try to see what the family would like to do moving forward with the dog. However, no one from the family wants to take the dog. I asked for medical records and was told that no one knows anything about that. When I at first approached my landlord about the situation when I took snarf in January it was under the pretense that it was for a temporary stay. I have two dogs and two cats already. However, know that his owner has passed away. I don't know how long I can keep pushing to keep the dog. Snarf is a good dog, he plays well with our dogs and cats. However, he doesn't like big dogs. He can be a bit barky, but he can be redirected.
