Zamboni

Zamboni is a black and white, pitbull mix, spayed female, estimated to be about 1 year and 3 months (DOB guestimate is 09/18/2021). She came from an animal shelter (Calcasieu Parish Animal Services) in Louisiana straight to me at about 6 months old (February 2022). She is vaccinated for Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, Canine Influenza, heartworm and fecal parasite tested negative, current on Proheart 12 for heartworm prevention and current on Bravecto for flea and tick prevention. She does great with our other 2 dogs (both lab mixes) one is just over 12 years old and the other just over 2 years old. She originally did fine with all 3 children (5 years, 3 years and 5 months old), but in October, she bit my 3 year old (got scared from him running near her on the couch). She has developed major anxiety in the last few months, which I think contributed to her biting one of the kids. She comes to my place of work (Pebble Creek Animal Hospital) 2x a week for daycare. She used to do well in playgroups with pets the same size and energy level, but in the last 3 months is now scared and submissive, instead of wanting to play. She just avoids other dogs, even some she has met prior to the bite and and prefers contact with just people. I am starting to think the fearful behavior at work is because she is worked up and is load in the boarding area. When she is at home or outside of work she does fine with other dogs. I am looking to find her a home with no children and if there are other dogs they just need to be introduced properly. She is currently on fluoxetine 40mg BID and composure chews once daily.
