Since MFP does not operate a traditional shelter, our ability to rescue animals depends entirely on the number of available foster homes. You provide the love, patience, and stability — we provide everything else.

Foster lengths vary depending on the dog’s needs. Some dogs need a few days, others a few weeks, and some remain in foster until adoption. We work with your schedule and match you with a dog you can comfortably support.

We cover all veterinary care, medications, preventatives, and offer supplies when needed (crate, food, toys, harness, etc.). You will have a foster coordinator to support you and access to our medical team when concerns arise.

A safe, loving home, transportation to vet appointments or adoption events, and daily care such as feeding, exercise, and basic training. Your role is to help your foster dog feel secure and prepare them for their forever home.

Absolutely! Many of our fosters work full-time jobs. We will match you with a dog whose needs fit your lifestyle — such as adult dogs, crate-trained dogs, or dogs comfortable being alone for part of the day.

Yes! Many fosters have resident dogs or cats. We will help you choose a foster dog that fits your home dynamic and guide you through safe introductions.

No experience is necessary. Mercy Full Project will guide you every step of the way. We provide training, resources, and support — you will never be alone in this process.

All vet care for your foster dog must go through MFP-approved veterinarians. We cover the cost entirely. You will be scheduled at our partnered clinics or at MFP’s developing low-cost clinic, and we help coordinate transportation if needed.

Many dogs need time to decompress, adjust, and learn manners. You will have full support from our behavior team, and we can provide training resources, decompression plans, and one-on-one guidance.

Not necessarily. Many dogs do great in apartments or homes without fenced yards. We will match you with a dog that fits your living situation.

When possible, yes. Adoption events help your foster dog find their forever family. If you’re unable to attend, we will help arrange transport or showcase your foster online.

Our adoption team screens all applicants first. Approved potential adopters then meet your foster dog in a safe, neutral setting. Fosters are welcome to be part of this process, but it’s not required.
